yay. happy chinese new year to all.

great time for some family gathering and relinking up of relationships
with relatives over some good food (bak kwa), gambling and comparisons
of ang bao collections.

i only have one gripe on this yearly event. what's up with all the blasting
of chinese new year songs all over the place man? and i really mean ALL
over the place! outdoor shops, indoor shops, work places, etc.

but seriously, don't take me wrong. i'm can tolerate the classic chinese
new year songs. but i saw something the other day that really drove me
crazy. ct girls singing techno versions of chinese new year songs!
and accompanied by stupid mtvs of the ct(or is it city? ie. their marketing failed)
girls in stupid costumes with really lousy cg effects. oh man...

i was thinking, who'd be crazy to write the tunes to such songs?
who'd be crazier to sing such songs?
who'd be craziest to want and produce and sell such songs?
who'd be the craziestest to buy such songs and play them in their area of
business? is it really that aurally pleasing?

i had to force myself to attain amnesia to forget the stupid mtvs. and
apparently its not working, because here i am still thinking and writing
about it. so, excuse me while i go and play a game of dota to temporarily
relieve myself from those scarring images in my head...

the end is the beginning is the end

nothing lasts forever. not you, not me, not anything. (maybe love, but..)
don't tell me diamonds. sure, the diamond may last, but will you,
as the owner of the diamond, have ownership of that pretty little
light sparkling stone forever?

天下无不散之宴席. i've learnt about splits, losses, eventual disintegration
of an initial great cohesion of ideas, plans, actions, energy, etc. be it for good
or bad. things never remain the same always. you won't see me thinking like
how i do right now a year ago.

bitch about the unfairness of life, fate and everything. but its still going to
stay this way. so how do you handle it? you know its not going to last, so
why spend your days worrying about the eventual loss?

i don't know about you, but i enjoy my life. i don't know since when and why the
hell i was given this consciousness of myself, but i'm enjoying it. i'm not going
to live forever, but i'm not going to worry about myself dying anytime soon too.

so! i'm going to live by this: enjoy things while they last, savour the moment.
不在乎天长地久, 只在乎曾经拥有.

yup. i'm think i'm just going to do that.
but then again, you never know. cos nothing lasts forever.
